Klay Thompson Made NBA History In Kings-Warriors Game

Klay Thompson moved up on the NBA's all-time scoring list.

On Thursday evening, the Golden State Warriors lost to the Sacramento Kings by a score of 134-133 (at home).

The Warriors had a chance to win the game but turned the ball over in the final seconds.

Harrison Barnes led the way with 39 points.

Klay Thompson finished his night with 16 points, one rebound, one assist, one steal and one block while shooting 5/14 from the field and 2/7 from the three-point range in 31 minutes of playing time.

He also made NBA history by moving ahead of Monta Ellis (14,858) and James Edwards (14,862) for 154th on the all-time scoring list

Following Ellis and Edwards, the next player for Thompson to pass will be Richard Jefferson (14,904).

Ellis is a former Warriors fan-favorite, as he spent the first six and a half seasons of his career with Golden State.

During the 2010 season, he averaged a career-high 25.5 points per contest at 24 years old.

The Warriors traded Ellis to the Milwaukee Bucks during the middle of the 2011-12 season (which was Thompson's rookie year).

They were teammates for 37 games.

As for Thompson, he is now averaging 17.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest while shooting 42.3% from the field and 38.7% from the three-point range in 41 games.

With the loss, the Warriors fell to 19-23 in their first 42 games, which has them as the 12th seed in the Western Conference.

Their next game will be on Saturday when they host the Los Angeles Lakers.
