Kyrie Irving Made NBA History In Bulls-Mavs Game

UPDATE: The Mavs won by a score of 127-92, and Kyrie Irving finished with 14 points, three rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block. 

On Monday evening, the Dallas Mavericks are playing the Chicago Bulls at the United Center in Illinois.  

During the game, Kyrie Irving made NBA history by moving ahead of Hall of Famer Steve Nash (1,685) for sole possession of 33rd on the all-time three-pointers list

Following Nash, the next player for Irving to pass will be Chris Paul. 

Irving entered the evening with averages of 25.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 49.0% from the field and 41.9% from the three-point range in 42 games.   

The Mavs are the eighth seed in the Western Conference with a 36-28 record in 64 games.  

They have gone 5-5 over their last ten games and are in the middle of a two-game winning streak. 

Most recently, the Mavs beat the Detroit Pistons (in Michigan) by a score of 142-124. 

Irving had 21 points, three rebounds, five assists and one steal while shooting 9/18 from the field and 3/6 from the three-point range in 30 minutes of playing time.

Following the Bulls, the Mavs will play their next game on Wednesday evening when they host Klay Thompson and the Golden State Warriors. 

Irving was the first pick in the 2011 NBA Draft out of Duke and has also spent time with the Brooklyn Nets, Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers. 

His career averages are 23.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 1.3 steals per contest while shooting 47.3% from the field and 39.3% from the three-point range in 713 regular season games.
