These 2 NBA Stars Weren't Born When Tom Brady Made His NFL Debut

On Wednesday, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady announced his retirement from the NFL, and two notable NBA stars were not even born when he made his NFL debut.

On Wednesday morning, seven-time Super Bowl Champion Tom Brady announced his retirement from the NFL (in a video he posted to Twitter).

Brady spent the first 20 seasons of his career with the New England Patriots and finished up the last three playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Brady said in the video: "Good morning, guys; I'll get to the point right away. I'm retiring for good. I know the process was a pretty big deal last time, so when I woke up this morning, I figured I'd press record and let you guys know first. It won't be long-winded, you only get one super emotional retirement essay, and I used mine up last year. Really, thank you, guys, so much to every single one of you for supporting me. My family, my friends, my teammates, my competitors, I could go on forever. There's too many. Thank you, guys, for allowing me to live my absolute dream. I wouldn't change a thing, I love you all."

In addition to winning the most Super Bowls ever, the legendary quarterback will be remembered for his longevity.

At 45 years old, he finishes his career, having played 23 total seasons.

The three-time MVP made his NFL debut on November 23, 2000.

For reference, two of the most notable stars in the NBA were not even born when Brady took his first snap in the NFL.

Charlotte Hornets All-Star LaMelo Ball was the third overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, and he is averaging 23.1 points and 8.3 assists per contest in 25 games this season.

He was born on August 22, 2001, nearly a year after Brady made his debut.

Another player who was not born yet was 2020 first-overall pick Anthony Edwards (August 5, 2001).

The Minnesota Timberwolves star is averaging 24.9 points and 6.1 rebounds per contest in 53 games.
