BREAKING: LeBron James Makes NBA All-Star History

LeBron James has played in more NBA All-Star Games than anyone in the league's history.

On Sunday night, the 2023 NBA All-Star Game is taking place in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is playing in his 19th straight All-Star Game.

The only time the 38-year-old wasn't an All-Star was his rookie season (2003-04).

James has now made history, passing Hall of Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most All-Star Games played in the league's history (they had been tied at 18).

Via NBA Communications: "With his appearance tonight, LeBron James has set the record for most NBA All-Star Games played with 19."

Earlier this month, James passed Adbul-Jabbar on the all-time scoring list.

Despite his age, the four-time NBA Champion has shown no signs of slowing down and is still among the ten best players in the league.

He came into the All-Star break with averages of 30.0 points, 8.4 rebounds and 7.0 assists per contest (while shooting 50.8% from the field).

For reference, the future Hall of Famer has only averaged 30+ points per contest three times out of the last 19 seasons.

Therefore, this could go down as one of the best regular seasons of his 20-year career.

While James has played well, the Lakers are the 13th seed in the Western Conference with a 27-32 record in 59 games.

The west has been close, so they are only 3.5 games behind Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks for the sixth seed (the final guaranteed playoff spot).

Last year, the Lakers went 33-49 and missed the NBA Playoffs.
