BREAKING: Los Angeles Clippers Reportedly Sign Former NBA 1st-Round Pick

According to Shams Charania and Law Murray of The Athletic, the Los Angeles Clippers will sign Kai Jones.

Kai Jones most recently played in the NBA during the 2022-23 season when he appeared in 46 games for the Charlotte Hornets.

That season, he averaged 3.4 points and 2.7 rebounds per contest while shooting 55.8% from the field.

On Saturday morning, Shams Charania and Law Murray of The Athletic reported that Jones will sign a deal with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Via Charania: "Free agent C/F Kai Jones is finalizing a multiyear deal with the Los Angeles Clippers, joining their playoff roster, sources tell me and @LawMurrayTheNU. Clippers take a chance on the talented 2021 19th overall pick. The 6-foot-11 big man recently completed a 10-day with 76ers."

Charania and Murray also report that the Clippers will likely waive Josh Primo to make room on the roster.

Jones was the 19th pick in the 2021 NBA Draft out of Texas, and this will be his third season playing in the league.

He has career averages of 2.7 points and 2.0 rebounds per contest while shooting 56.7% from the field and 23.8% from the three-point range in 67 games.

As for the Clippers, they are the fourth seed in the Western Conference with a 51-30 record in 71 games.

They have gone 7-3 over their last ten games and are also in the middle of a two-game losing streak.

The Clippers will play their final game of the 2023-24 NBA season on Sunday afternoon when they host Fred VanVleet and the Houston Rockets in Los Angeles, California.

Last season, they lost to the Phoenix Suns in the first round of the playoffs.
