Luka Doncic Injury Update Following Mavericks-Pelicans Game On Wednesday

Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic was injured in Wednesday night's game against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Playing the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday night in a game that could have vaulted them back to the 5-seed in the Western Conference, the Dallas Mavericks fell 113-106 and to make matters worse, they also lost superstar Luka Doncic.

Dealing with some sort of left thigh injury throughout the game, an injury that he suffered this past weekend against the Phoenix Suns, Doncic was forced to leave Wednesday night's game against New Orleans with what the team called a "left thigh strain."

After the game, Doncic spoke to reporters and gave an update on his injury, stating that it is "not good" and that he is going to get an MRI done tomorrow.

"We all can see that he's not moving well," head coach Jason Kidd said after the game. "Shooting, defense; It's affecting everything. He's trying to fight through it and help his teammates, but he had to leave there. Hopefully, it's not something serious. We have a couple days here before we play Memphis. Hopefully, he's back soon."

Without Doncic on the floor this season, the Mavericks have gone just 3-7 and heading towards the final month of the season, they will need their star to be healthy.

Following this loss to the Pelicans on Wednesday, the Mavericks are now 34-33 on the season, currently the 8-seed in the Western Conference and tied in the standings with the likes of Minnesota Timberwolves, who own the tiebreaker over them as of right now.

In 57 games this season, including Wednesday night's loss, Doncic has averaged 33.0 points, 8.6 rebounds and 8.0 assists per game.

The Mavericks will play their next game on Saturday against the Memphis Grizzlies
