Magic Johnson's Bold Tweet About The Lakers Went Viral

Magic Johnson sent out a tweet about the Los Angeles Lakers after they beat the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 1.

On Sunday afternoon, the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 128-112 on the road in Tennessee to take Game 1 of their first-round playoff series.

Four players on the team scored 21+ points, and Rui Hachimura led the way with 29.

Following the big victory, Hall of Famer Magic Johnson sent out a tweet about the Lakers that went viral.

Johnson: "If the @Lakers continue to play like this, they can beat Memphis and anybody else in the West!"

Johnson's post has over 19,000 likes and nearly one million impressions in less than 24 hours.

The Lakers have one of the most talented rosters in the league and will have an excellent chance to make a deep run.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis led the franchise to the 2020 NBA Championship, but they are coming off a year where they went just 33-49 and missed the playoffs.

Despite an up-and-down 2022-23 regular season, the Lakers were able to finish as the seventh seed in the Western Conference with a 43-39 record.

They made excellent moves to acquire players such as D'Angelo Russell, Malik Beasley, Jarred Vanderbilt, Mo Bamba and Hachimura.

The new additions helped lead them to one of the league's best records over the season's final two months.

Game 2 will be played back in Memphis on Wednesday night, and the winner of the series will face off with either the Golden State Warriors or the Sacramento Kings in the second round.
