Miami Heat Reportedly Signing NBA Champion

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Miami Heat will sign 2023 NBA Champion Thomas Bryant.

Thomas Bryant is coming off a season where he played for both the Los Angeles Lakers and Denver Nuggets (he was traded in February from the Lakers to the Nuggets).

The former Indiana Hoosier finished the year with averages of 9.8 points and 5.7 rebounds per contest while shooting 62.3% from the field and 44.1% from the three-point range.

On Saturday afternoon, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Miami Heat will sign Bryant to a two-year deal.

Via Wojnarowski: "Free agent Thomas Bryant has agreed on a two-year, $5.4 million deal with the Miami Heat, his agents Mark Bartelstein and Zach Kurtin of @PrioritySports tell ESPN. Player option on second year."

The Nuggets won the 2023 NBA Championship over the Heat, so Bryant is now joining another elite team.

In addition to the Nuggets and Lakers, he has also spent time with the Washington Wizards.

The 25-year-old has career averages of 10.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists per contest while shooting 59.8% from the field and 36.6% from the three-point range.

The Heat are known for bringing the best out of their players, and Bryant is a highly underrated young center.

Therefore, this could end up being one of the best deals of the summer.

Last year, the Heat were the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference, and after winning their way through the play-in tournament, they defeated the Milwaukee Bucks, New York Knicks and Boston Celtics in the first three rounds of the NBA Playoffs (before losing to the Nuggets).

The franchise has been to the NBA Finals twice in the previous four seasons.
