Mikal Bridges' Status For Nets-Heat Game

Mikal Bridges will be available for Wednesday's game.

On Wednesday evening, the Brooklyn Nets will be on the road in Florida to face off against the Miami Heat.

For the game, they will have their best player in the starting lineup, as Mikal Bridges will be available.

Via Brian Lewis of The New York Post: "Mikal Bridges will play tonight for the #Nets against the #Heat."

Bridges was initially the 10th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft out of Villanova and spent the first four and a half seasons of his career with the Phoenix Suns.

However, he was traded (last season) to the Nets in the deal that landed the Suns with future Hall of Famer Kevin Durant.

Last year, Bridges had the best season of his career with averages of 20.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 46.8% from the field and 38.2% from the three-point range in 83 regular season games.

He also helped the Nets finish as the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 45-37 record.

However, they got swept in the first round of the NBA playoffs by Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers.

For the game against the Heat, the Nets will start Ben Simmons, Spencer Dinwiddie, Mikal Bridges, Dorian Finney-Smith and Nic Claxton.

The Nets are done with the preseason after Wednesday night and will play their first game of the 2023-24 regular season on October 25 when they host Donovan Mitchell and the Cleveland Cavaliers at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
