Tristian Thompson (Los Angeles Lakers) is still a free agent.

Tristan Thompson is coming off a year where he was picked up by the Los Angeles Lakers for the NBA playoffs.

They were the seventh seed in the Western Conference, but made the Conference Finals (losing to the Denver Nuggets in four games).

The 2016 NBA Champion played in six playoff games and averaged 1.8 points and 1.7 rebounds per contest while shooting 45.5% from the field.

This summer, Thompson became a free agent, and he still remains available to be signed by any team in the league.

While the former Texas star is no longer in his prime, he is only 32 years old and has extensive experience.

Thompson was initially the fourth pick in the 2011 NBA Draft and spent the first nine seasons of his career with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

During that span, the Cavs made the NBA Finals four times and won the 2016 NBA Championship over Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors.

In addition to the Cavs and Lakers, Thompson has also played for the Boston Celtics, Sacramento Kings, Indiana Pacers and Chicago Bulls.

His career averages are 9.0 points, 8.4 rebounds and 1.0 assists per contest while shooting 51.9% from the field in 730 regular season games (he has also appeared in 94 NBA playoff games).

Since Thompson would likely be able to be signed for the veteran's minimum, he could be an excellent addition to many teams.

Either a team contending for a title, or a young roster in need of veteran leadership for their locker room, would make sense for the 12-year NBA veteran.
