NBA Champion Makes Bold Claim About Anthony Edwards

NBA Champion Kendrick Perkins sent out a post on X about Anthony Edwards (Minnesota Timberwolves).

On Thursday evening, the Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Memphis Grizzlies (at home) by a score of 118-103.

All-Star shooting guard Anthony Edwards led the way with 28 points, five rebounds, five assists and one steal while shooting 11/19 from the field and 1/6 from the three-point range in 34 minutes of playing time.

NBA Champion Kendrick Perkins sent out a post on X with a bold statement about Edwards.

Via Perkins: "We are watching the Future Face of the NBA!!! Btw his name is Anthony Edwards. Carry the hell on…"

Perkins played with a lot of great players over his 14 seasons in the NBA, so that's high praise for Edwards.

The former first-overall pick is now averaging 26.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.3 steals per contest while shooting 46.5% from the field and 38.0% from the field in 38 games.

In addition to Edwards' stellar play, the Timberwolves are the first seed in the Western Conference with a 30-11 record in their first 41 games.

They are in the middle of a four-game winning streak and are 6-4 over their last ten games.

At home, the Timberwolves are an excellent 17-2 in the 19 games they have played at the Target Center.

Following Thursday's game, they will host the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday evening.

As for the Grizzlies, they dropped to 15-26 in their first 41 games, which has them as the 13th seed in the Western Conference.

They are 5-5 over their last ten games.
