NBA Champion Wants To Be Traded
P.J. Tucker has been one of the best role players in the NBA for over a decade.
However, the 38-year-old, who was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers at the beginning of the season (in the James Harden deal), has not been getting a lot of playing time.
Tucker currently has averages of 1.3 points and 2.9 rebounds per contest while shooting 31.6% from the field and 31.3% from the three-point range in 15 games.
The former Texas star has yet to appear in a game since November 27, and on Thursday, Marc J. Spears of Andscape shared a statement from Tucker.
Tucker via Spears: "I want to be somewhere where I’m needed, wanted and can do it all. I don’t know what’s going to happen but I have my fingers crossed and I’m hoping to go somewhere else whether I get bought out and choose where I go or where I can play."
Tucker is in his 13th season in the NBA and has also spent time with the Phoenix Suns, Houston Rockets, Philadelphia 76ers, Miami Heat, Toronto Raptors and Milwaukee Bucks (in addition to Los Angeles).
His career averages are 6.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 42.5% from the field and 36.5% from the three-point range in 867 regular season games.
He has also appeared in 102 playoff games and helped the Bucks win the 2021 NBA Championship over the Suns.
Tucker has an $11.5 million player option for the 2024-25 season.
