Surprising NBA Team Follows Warriors' Draymond Green On Twitter

According to the Twitter account @theNBAalert, the Houston Rockets have followed Draymond Green.

Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors had their season end when they lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 6 of the second round of the NBA Playoffs last month.

The 2022 NBA Champions have won four titles in the previous nine seasons, but they never quite looked like a legitimate contender in 2023.

Green has spent his entire career with the Warriors (he was the 35th pick in the 2012 NBA Draft), and the former Michigan State could potentially be an unrestricted free agent this summer.

He has a player option on his contract for the 2023-24 season that would pay him $27.6 million.

If Green declines the player option, he will be one of the most notable free agents on the market.

Therefore, there will likely be a lot of rumors and speculation until a deal is signed.

On Friday, the Twitter account @theNBAalert (which tracks the social media activity of NBA players) reported that the Houston Rockets had followed Green.

In less than seven hours, the tweet has over 2,500 likes and 650,000 impressions.

The Rockets follow 1,488 people on Twitter, but fans in the comments were speculating about why the franchise may have followed Green.

Green finished the regular season with averages of 8.5 points, 7.2 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 1.0 steals per contest while shooting 52.7% from the field in 73 games.

He is 33 years old and is going into his 12th season in the NBA.
