Knicks' Center Frustrated With Current Role

Following their victory on Tuesday night over the Portland Trail Blazers, New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson voiced his frustrations with his current role in New York on social media.

After defeating the Portland Trail Blazers 123-107 on Tuesday night, the New York Knicks improved to 41-30 on the season, inching closer to sealing a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with 11 games to play.

Following this game however, Knicks center Mitchell Robinson voiced his displeasure with his current role with the team on Snapchat, stating he just wants to play basketball instead of wasting his energy running around.

Mitchell Robinson: "Tired asf of just being out there for cardio fam like I want to play basketball to really just wasting my time and energy."

Since returning from injury, Robinson has played in eight straight games for the Knicks, averaging 7.9 points and 8.5 rebounds in about 28.5 minutes per game.

Over his last three games though, Robinson has only recorded five made shots on 14 total attempts, averaging less than 25 minutes per game.

When healthy, Mitchell Robinson really is not utilized by New York other than being a key rebounding threat on both ends of the floor and a rim-protector defensively.

It does seem like Robinson wants to be more involved with his team, but his role is unlikely to change at this point in the season, especially after all the success the Knicks have been having since the All-Star break.

Signing a new four-year, $60 million deal with New York this past summer, Robinson is under contract through the 2025-26 season.
