New York Knicks Player Fined $2,000 By NBA

The NBA has fined Donte DiVincenzo (New York Knicks).

On Wednesday evening, the New York Knicks played their first game of the regular season when they hosted the Boston Celtics at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan.

The game was a thriller, but the Celtics won by a score of 108-104.

On Thursday, the NBA announced that they had fined Donte DiVincenzo $2,000 for flopping.

Via NBA Official: "NYK’s Donte DiVincenzo was assessed a postgame Flopping fine of $2,000 upon league office review for https://nba.com/watch/video/celtics-vs-knicks-10-25-2023… on Oct. 25 vs. BOS."

DiVincenzo signed with the team over the offseason, so this was his first game with New York.

He finished his night with three rebounds and two assists in 15 minutes of playing time.

DiVincenzo was the 17th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft and is in his sixth season in the league (he has played for the Milwaukee Bucks, Sacramento Kings, Golden State Warriors and New York Knicks).

His career averages are 9.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 41.9% from the field and 36.1% from the three-point range in 274 regular season games (he has also appeared in 26 NBA playoff games).

The Knicks are coming off a season where they were the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference and lost to Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat in the second round of the NBA playoffs (in six games).

They will play their next game on Friday night when they visit Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks at State Farm Arena in Georgia.
