On Monday evening, the Denver Nuggets are hosting the Dallas Mavericks in Colorado.

During the game, Nikola Jokic made NBA history by moving up on the all-time assists list

Jokic moved ahead of Michael Adams (4,209) and Richie Guerin (4,211) for 108th on the list.

Following Adams and Guerin, the next player for Jokic to pass will be Charles Barkley (4,215).

Jokic came into the evening with averages of 27.0 points, 12.4 rebounds, 9.5 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 54.1% from the field and 30.9% from the three-point range in 26 games.

The Nuggets are the fourth seed in the Western Conference with a 17-10 record in their first 27 games.

They are 6-4 over their last ten games and most recently lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder by a score of 118-117.

In 37 minutes of playing time, Jokic had 24 points, six rebounds, 12 assists and two steals while shooting 8/15 from the field and 1/2 from the three-point range.

Following the Mavs, the Nuggets will visit the Toronto Raptors in Canada on Wednesday evening.

Jokic was the 41st pick in the 2014 NBA Draft and is in his ninth season in the league (all with the Nuggets).

Last season, the 28-year-old led the Nuggets to the first seed in the Western Conference and the 2023 NBA Championship over the Miami Heat.

His career averages are 20.5 points, 10.6 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 55.2% from the field and 34.6% from the three-point range.
