Patrick Beverly's Viral Tweet After The Lakers Traded For D'Angelo Russell

Patrick Beverley sent out a tweet after the Los Angeles Lakers traded for D'Angelo Russell.

On Wednesday evening, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Los Angeles Lakers, Utah Jazz and Minnesota Timberwolves completed a blockbuster three-team trade.

The key parts of the deal were 2017 MVP Russell Westbrook being sent to Utah and former All-Star D'Angelo Russell going to Los Angeles.

Russell spent the first two seasons of his pro career with the Lakers (he was the second overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft).

In addition to being reunited with the Lakers, Russell also played with Patrick Beverley on the Timberwolves in 2021-22.

After the trade was reported, Beverley quote tweeted a tweet from SportsCenter of the two together on the Timberwolves.

Beverley captioned his post: "The gang is Back ❤️ "

His post has over 26,000 likes and 1.3 million impressions in less than two hours.

With the Timberwolves, Russell and Beverley led them back to the NBA Playoffs, which was the first time the franchise had been there since 2018.

Wojnarowski also reported that Malik Beasley and Jarred Vanderbilt (from the Jazz) are headed to the Lakers in the deal.

Both players were on the 2021-22 Timberwolves.

Therefore, four players from last season's team are now teammates once again.

Russell is currently averaging 17.9 points and 6.2 assists per contest while shooting 46.5% from the field and 39.1% from the three-point range.

He will be an excellent fit with Anthony Davis and LeBron James, giving them a point guard that can shoot and has an elite passing ability.

In addition to the Lakers and Timberwolves, Russell has also played for the Brooklyn Nets and Golden State Warriors.
