Paul Pierce Made A Bold Statement About Jets' Aaron Rodgers

Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce spoke about New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers on the KG Certified podcast.

Aaron Rodgers is one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history.

The 2010 Super Bowl Champion had spent his entire 18-year career with the Green Bay Packers, but on Monday night, he will make his New York Jets debut when they host the Buffalo Bills at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

There had been the possibility that the 39-year-old would retire, but the Packers traded Rodgers to the Jets in April, and he has a two-year, $75 million deal with his new team.

Paul Pierce, a Basketball Hall of Famer and one of the greatest players of all-time (in his respective sport), was recently on Kevin Garnett's podcast on Showtime Basketball (KG Certified) and spoke about Rodgers.

Pierce was asked: "Do you think Aaron Rodgers is gonna be as good as people think he's gonna be?"

Pierce: "Nope. I think he's got one foot out the league. I think he was close to retiring in Green Bay. He was close to retiring. Now, all of sudden he re-motivated?"

Pierce later added: "When that thought process creeps into your mindset, as an athlete, when you start having that thought process when doubt is created in your head, that's a form of weakness."

Pierce had a legendary tenure with the Celtics before spending the final four seasons of his career with the Brooklyn Nets, Washington Wizards and Los Angeles Clippers.

His career averages were 19.7 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.4 steals per contest.
