Philadelphia 76ers Officially Sign 3x NBA Champion

The Philadelphia 76ers have officially signed Danny Green.

Danny Green has been one of the best role players in the history of the NBA.

Despite being a second-round pick in 2009, he has played 14 seasons in the league and won three NBA Championships.

Most recently, Green played 11 regular season games for the Memphis Grizzlies and Cleveland Cavaliers and averaged 5.5 points and 1.3 rebounds per contest while shooting 44.9% from the field and 43.2% from the three-point range.

He also appeared in four NBA playoff games for the Cavs, who made the postseason for the first time since 2018.

Green became a free agent this summer, and (on Wednesday) he officially signed with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Via 76ers PR: "PHILADELPHIA – SEPT. 13, 2023 – Philadelphia 76ers President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey announced today that the team has signed Danny Green. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed."

In addition to the Cavs and Grizzlies, Green has also played for the Los Angeles Lakers, Toronto Raptors and 76ers.

Over 830 regular season games, he has career averages of 8.7 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steals per contest while shooting 42.1% from the field and 40.0% from the three-point range (Green has also appeared in an astonishing 169 NBA playoff games).

As for the 76ers, they are coming off a year where they were the third seed in the Eastern Conference.

They swept the Brooklyn Nets in the first round of the NBA playoffs but lost to the Boston Celtics in the second round (in seven games).
