BREAKING: Philadelphia 76ers Signing Recent Miami Heat Player

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Philadelphia 76ers are signing recent Miami Heat center Dewayne Dedmon.

Last week, the Miami Heat traded Dewayne Dedmon to the San Antonio Spurs.

The Spurs are in rebuilding mode, so he did not make sense for their roster and Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported (on February 9) that he would be waived.

Now, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the 33-year-old is headed to the Philadelphia 76ers

Wojnarowski: "The 76ers are signing free agent center Dewayne Dedmon for the rest of the season, sources tell ESPN. The Sixers had been active in buyout market to find another center and land on Dedmon, who spent the past three seasons with the Miami Heat."

Dedmon played 11 games for the franchise during the 2014 season.

Right now, he is averaging 5.7 points and 3.6 rebounds per contest in 30 games (while shooting 49.6% from the field).

The 76ers rank 28th in rebounds per contest (47.9 RPG), so he will be an excellent addition to their bench that can help in that department.

Dedmon has averaged at least 5.0 rebounds per contest in seven out of his ten seasons in the NBA.

In addition to the 76ers and Heat, he has also played for the Atlanta Hawks, Sacramento Kings, Golden State Warriors, San Antonio Spurs and Orlando Magic.

Through 55 games, the 76ers are 36-19, which has them as the second seed in the Eastern Conference.

They are 7-3 in their last ten games and only 4.0 games back of the Boston Celtics for first.

On Monday night, the 76ers will host the Houston Rockets in Pennsylvania.
