BREAKING: Phoenix Suns On The Verge Of Acquiring Kevin Durant

In a shocking turn of events ahead of the NBA trade deadline, the Phoenix Suns are on the verge of acquiring Kevin Durant from the Brooklyn Nets.

The Phoenix Suns are on the verge of finalizing a trade with the Brooklyn Nets that would send superstar forward Kevin Durant to Phoenix, first reported by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Adrian Wojnarowski: "BREAKING: The Phoenix Suns are nearing a blockbuster trade to acquire Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant, sources tell ESPN. Durant wanted move to Suns, and new owner Mat Ishbia pushing to get deal done tonight."

New owner Mat Ishbia has been wanting to take control of the team in order to make a big move for the Suns and that has happened the night before the trade deadline!

Along with acquiring Kevin Durant, the Suns will be acquiring TJ Warren from Brooklyn in exchange for Mikal Bridges, Cameron Johnson, Jae Crowder, four first-round picks and a first-round pick swap in 2028.

Durant, who many thought would remain with the Brooklyn Nets following the Irving trade, did request a trade from the team in the offseason and the Suns were viewed as the heavy favorites to trade for him during the summer.

Ultimately, the Nets and Durant came to an agreement for him to remain with the team, but the Suns' interest in the superstar forward never disappeared and now, they will be viewed as one of the championship favorites in the NBA with Chris Paul and Devin Booker being paired with Kevin Durant.

Currently out with a right MCL injury, Durant has played in 39 games this season, averaging 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game.
