Recent Miami Heat Player Signs With Utah Jazz

Omer Yurtseven has signed with the Utah Jazz.

Omer Yurtseven is coming off a season where he averaged 4.4 points and 2.6 rebounds per contest while shooting 59.3% from the field in nine games for the Miami Heat (he also appeared in eight NBA playoff games).

This summer, the 25-year-old became a free agent, and (on Monday) ESPN's Bobby Marks reports that Yurtseven is signing with the Utah Jazz.

Via Marks: "Free agent Omer Yurtseven has agreed on a two-year deal with the Utah Jazz, agent Keith Glass tells ESPN. The starting salary in the first year is $2.8M."

Yurtseven has played two seasons in the NBA (all with the Heat) and has career averages of 5.2 points and 4.9 rebounds per contest while shooting 53.3% from the field in 65 regular season games (he has also appeared in 17 NBA playoff games).

During his rookie season, the Heat were the first seed in the Eastern Conference and lost in Game 7 of the Conference Finals to the Boston Celtics.

This past season, they were the eighth seed but made the NBA Finals (they lost to the Denver Nuggets in five games).

In addition to the Heat, Yurtseven has also played 16 games in the G League and has averages of 16.8 points, 9.9 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.3 blocks per contest while shooting 58.6% from the field.

As for the Jazz, they went into rebuilding mode last summer when they traded Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell.

This past year, they were the 12th seed in the Western Conference with a 37-45 record.
