Recent Lakers Player Officially Signs With Timberwolves

Troy Brown Jr. has officially signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Troy Brown Jr. is coming off a season where he averaged 7.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists per contest while shooting 43.0% from the field and 38.1% from the three-point range in 76 regular season games for the Los Angeles Lakers.

On Sunday, the Minnesota Timberwolves officially announced that they had signed Brown Jr.

Via Timberwolves PR: "The Minnesota Timberwolves today announced the team has signed forward Troy Brown Jr. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not released."

Brown Jr. was initially the 15th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft out of Oregon by the Washington Wizards.

In addition to the Wizards and Lakers, he's also played for the Chicago Bulls.

The 23-year-old is entering his sixth season in the NBA and has career averages of 6.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists per contest while shooting 42.9% from the field and 35.4% from the three-point range in 297 regular season games (he has also appeared in 15 NBA playoff games).

Last season, the Lakers were the seventh seed in the Western Conference and defeated the Memphis Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors in the first two rounds of the NBA playoffs (they were swept in the Conference Finals by Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets).

Brown Jr. appeared in 12 of those games but only averaged 1.8 points per contest in 10.3 minutes of playing time.

As for the Timberwolves, they were the eighth seed and lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Nuggets (in five games).
