ESPN Reporter Reveals 2 Teams To "Keep An Eye On" For Russell Westbrook

ESPN's Brian Windhorst says to "keep an eye on" the Miami Heat and Los Angeles Clippers for Russell Westbrook.

On Wednesday evening, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that 2017 MVP Russell Westbrook was traded from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Utah Jazz (in a three-team deal that also included the Minnesota Timberwolves).

However, no one expects Westbrook to play for the Jazz, and ESPN's Brian Windhorst (appearing on SportsCenter with Scott Van Pelt) confirmed that he will not.

He also mentioned two teams to "keep an eye on" signing him when he becomes a free agent.

Windhorst: "I do think you may want to keep an eye on the Miami Heat. You may want to keep an eye on the Los Angeles Clippers. There's a connection with Paul George."

The NBA trading deadline is at 3 P.M. on Thursday, so Windhorst noted that where Westbrook ultimately lands could be dependent upon what moves these teams make (or don't make).

Westbrook had been in his second season with the Lakers and is currently averaging 15.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 1.0 steals per contest in 52 games.

At one point, he was considered one of the best guards in the NBA and has made the NBA All-Star Game nine times.

At 34 years old, he has still shown he can put up big numbers and in the right situation, could probably help out several teams.

Before the Lakers, he played for the Washington Wizards, Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder.

The former UCLA star is the NBA's all-time triple-double leader (198) and has averaged a triple-double an astonishing four times in the previous 14 seasons.
