BREAKING: Rudy Gobert Fined $100,000 By NBA Following Timberwolves-Cavs Game

The NBA has fined Rudy Gobert (Minnesota Timberwolves).

On Friday evening, the Minnesota Timberwolves faced off against the Cleveland Cavaliers in Ohio.    

The game went into overtime, and the Timberwolves lost by a score of 113-104. 

Following the game (on Sunday), the NBA announced that three-time All-Star Rudy Gobert has been fined $100,000.   

Via NBA Communications: "Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert has been fined $100,000 for directing an inappropriate and unprofessional gesture toward a game official, and publicly criticizing the officiating, it was announced today by Joe Dumars, Executive Vice President, Head of Basketball Operations. The fine takes into account Gobert's past instances of conduct detrimental to the NBA with regard to publicly criticizing the officiating."

Gobert was assessed a technical foul for giving the money sign to a referee (after being issued his sixth foul).   

He finished the game with seven points, 17 rebounds, two assists, one steal and two blocks while shooting 3/7 from the field in 37 minutes of playing time. 

Gobert is currently averaging 13.8 points, 12.9 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 2.1 blocks per contest while shooting 64.9% from the field in 62 games. 

The Timberwolves are the second seed in the Western Conference with a 44-20 record in 64 games.   

They have gone 6-4 over their last ten games and will play the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday evening in California. 

On the road, the Timberwolves are 21-12 in the 33 games they have played away from the Target Center. 

Gobert was the 27th pick in the 2013 NBA Draft and is in his 11th season in the league.
