Rudy Gobert Made NBA History In Mavs-Timberwovles Game

On Thursday evening, the Minnesota Timberwolves hosted the Dallas Mavericks at the Target Center.      

The Timberwolves won the game by a score of 118-110, and All-Star guard Anthony Edwards led the way with 44 points, three rebounds, four assists, three steals and one block while shooting 12/23 from the field. 

Rudy Gobert finished his night with 20 points, 11 rebounds, two assists and three blocks while shooting 7/7 from the field. 

During the game, Gobert also made NBA history by moving up on the all-time blocks list.    

Gobert has now moved ahead of Caldwell Jones (1,517) for 39th on the list. 

Following Jones, the next player for Gobert to pass will be DeAndre Jordan (1,529). 

Gobert is one of the best defenders in NBA history and has won three Defensive Player of The Year Awards.   

The 31-year-old entered the night with averages of 12.7 points, 12.0 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 2.2 blocks per contest while shooting 60.9% from the field.

With the victory over the Mavs, the Timberwolves improved to 23-7 in their first 30 games, which has them as the first seed in the Western Conference. 

They are an outstanding 13-1 in the 14 games they have hosted on their home floor at the Target Center in Minnesota.

Following the Mavs, the Timberwolves will now play LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers (at home) on Saturday evening.  

Gobert is in his 11th season in the NBA and his second playing for the Timberwolves. 

His career averages are 12.5 points, 11.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 2.1 blocks per contest while shooting 65.2% from the field in 710 games with the Timberwolves and Jazz.
