Rudy Gobert Made NBA History In Trail Blazers-Timberwolves Game

Rudy Gobert achieved a career milestone during Friday's game.

On Friday evening, the Minnesota Timberwolves are hosting the Portland Trail Blazers at the Target Center.   

During the game, Rudy Gobert made NBA history by becoming the 467th player to score 9,000 career points.  

Gobert came into the evening with 8,990 points, so he only needed ten to achieve the career milestone. 

Gobert entered the matchup with averages of 12.8 points, 12.0 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 2.1 blocks per contest while shooting 62.6% from the field in 36 games. 

The Timberwolves are off to an excellent start to the season and have a 26-11 record in their first 37 games.   

They are 5-5 over their last ten games and most recently lost to the Boston Celtics by a score of 127-120 (Gobert did not play in the game). 

Following the Trail Blazers, the Timberwolves will host James Harden and the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday evening at the Target Center. 

Gobert was the 27th pick in the 2013 NBA Draft and is in his 11th season in the league. 

He had spent the first nine seasons of his career with the Utah Jazz before getting traded to the Timberwolves in the summer of 2022. 

His career averages are 12.5 points, 11.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 2.1 blocks per contest while shooting 65.2% from the field in 717 regular season games. 

As for the Trail Blazers, they are the 14th seed in the Western Conference with a 10-27 record in 37 games. 

They are 3-7 over their last ten games and in the middle of a two-game losing streak.
