Rudy Gobert's Viral Tweet After Pelicans-Timberwolves Game

Three-time NBA All-Star Rudy Gobert sent out tweet after Sunday's game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and New Orleans Pelicans.

On Sunday afternoon, the Minnesota Timberwolves hosted the New Orleans Pelicans at the Target Center in Minneapolis.

The Timberwolves (42-40) won 113-108, so they are now the eighth seed and will face off with the Los Angeles Lakers in the play-in tournament on Tuesday night in California.

However, there was a lot of drama during the game, as teammates, Rudy Gobert and Kyle Anderson were seen arguing in the middle of a timeout.

Gobert tried to punch Anderson, and the two were quickly separated.

Following the incident, Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported that Gobert was sent home.

Charania: "Timberwolves have sent Rudy Gobert home after Gobert threw punch at teammate Kyle Anderson during a timeout huddle, per sources. He is out for remainder of game."

Shortly after the game, the three-time NBA All-Star center sent out a tweet apologizing, and his post went viral on Twitter.

Gobert: "Emotions got the best of me today. I should not have reacted the way i did regardless of what was said. I wanna apologize to the fans, the organisation and particularly to Kyle, who is someone that i truly love and respect as a teammate."

Gobert spent the first nine seasons of his career with the Utah Jazz but was traded to the Timberwolves in a blockbuster deal over the summer.

He finished his first regular season in Minnesota with averages of 13.4 points, 11.6 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.4 blocks per contest in 70 games while shooting 65.9% from the field.
