On Friday evening, the Los Angeles Clippers are in Texas facing off against the Dallas Mavericks.

Russell Westbrook, who is playing in his 1,102nd career game, has now moved ahead of Maurice Cheeks (1,101) and tied Herb Williams (1,102) for 79th on the NBA's all-time regular season games played list

Following Williams, the next player for Westbrook to pass will be Michael Finley (1,103).

Westbrook entered the matchup with averages of 15.1 points, 7.1 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 1.6 steals per contest while shooting 49.5% from the field and 34.6% from the three-point range.

The Clippers are 3-4 in their first seven games and in the middle of a three-game losing streak.

Most recently, they lost to the Brooklyn Nets by a score of 100-93.

In 20 minutes, Westbrook had 14 points, five rebounds, two assists and three steals while shooting 5/11 from the field.

This is his first full season with the Clippers after signing with the team in February.

Last year, the Clippers were the fifth seed in the Western Conference and lost to the Phoenix Suns in the first round of the NBA playoffs (in five games).

Westbrook averaged 15.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 1.0 steals per contest in 73 games for the Clippers and Lakers.

Following the Mavs, the Clippers will play their next game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday afternoon (at home) in California.

Westbrook is in his 16th season in the NBA and has also played for the Houston Rockets, Washington Wizards and Oklahoma City Thunder (in addition to the Clippers and Lakers).
