Russell Westbrook Made NBA History In Clippers-Nets Game

Russell Westbrook moved up on the NBA's all-time games played list.

On Wednesday evening, the Los Angeles Clippers are in New York facing off against the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center.

Russell Westbrook is playing in his 1,101st regular season game, so he has now moved ahead of Hall of Famer Dennis Johnson (1,100) and tied Hall of Famer Maurice Cheeks (1,101) for 80th on the all-time games played list.

Following Cheeks, the next player for Westbrook to pass will be Herb Williams (1,102).

Westbrook came into the evening with averages of 15.5 points, 7.2 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 1.8 steals per contest while shooting 53.3% from the field and 38.1% from the three-point range in six games.

The Clippers are 3-3 in their first six games and most recently lost to the New York Knicks by a score of 111-97.

Westbrook played 31 minutes and had 17 points, four rebounds and four assists while shooting 8/13 from the field and 1/3 from the three-point range.

The nine-time NBA All-Star is one of the best point guards of all time and is in his 16th season in the league.

He has played for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, Washington Wizards, Los Angeles Lakers (and Clippers).

His career averages are 22.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, 8.4 assists and 1.6 steals per contest while shooting 43.8% from the field.

Following the Nets, the Clippers will play their next game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday in California.
