Russell Westbrook Made NBA History In Clippers-Thunder Game

Russell Westbrook made NBA history during Thursday's game.

On Thursday evening, the Los Angeles Clippers are in Oklahoma City facing off against the Thunder.

Russell Westbrook is playing in his 1,122nd career game, which ties Hall of Famer Hal Greer for 68th on the all-time regular season games played list

Following Greer, the next player for him to pass will be Lou Williams (1,123).

Westbrook came into the evening with averages of 11.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 45.9% from the field and 27.0% from the three-point range in 27 games.

The Clippers are the hottest team in the NBA and have a 17-10 record in their first 27 games, which has them as the fourth seed in the Western Conference.

They are 9-1 over their last ten games and in the middle of a nine-game winning streak.

Most recently, the Clippers beat the Dallas Mavericks (in Texas) by a score of 120-111.

In 23 minutes of playing time, Westbrook had ten points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals while shooting 5/9 from the field.

Following the Thunder, the Clippers will return home to host Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics on Saturday in Los Angeles.

Westbrook was the fourth pick in the 2008 NBA Draft out of UCLA, and spent the first 11 seasons of his career with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

In addition to the Thunder and Clippers, the 2017 MVP has also spent time with the Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers and Washington Wizards.

His career averages are 22.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, 8.3 assists and 1.6 steals per contest while shooting 43.8% from the field.
