Russell Westbrook Made NBA History In Mavs-Clippers Game

Russell Westbrook moved up on the NBA's all-time games played list.

On Saturday evening, the Los Angeles Clippers are hosting the Dallas Mavericks in California. 

Russell Westbrook is playing in his 1,109th career regular season game, which ties Rasheed Wallace for 74th on the all-time list

Following Wallace, the next player for Westbrook to pass will be Kurt Thomas (1,110). 

Westbrook came into the evening with averages of 12.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.7 steals per contest while shooting 42.4% from the field and 28.6% from the three-point range in 14 games. 

The Clippers are 6-8 in their first 14 games, which has them as the 11th seed in the Western Conference. 

They are 3-7 over their last ten games and most recently lost to the New Orleans Pelicans by a score of 116-106. 

In 14 minutes of playing time, Westbrook had three points, four rebounds, two assists and one block while shooting 1/8 from the field. 

Westbrook is in his 16th season in the NBA and joined the Clippers during the middle of last season.  

He has also played for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets and Washington Wizards. 

His career averages are 22.2 points, 7.3 rebounds, 8.3 assists and 1.6 steals per contest while shooting 43.8% from the field and 30.5% from the three-point range. 

The 2017 MVP made the 2012 NBA Finals (with the Thunder) and has appeared in 160 NBA playoff games.

Following the Mavs, the Clippers will play their next game on Monday evening when they host the Denver Nuggets in Los Angeles.
