Russell Westbrook Became First Clippers Player To Do This On Wednesday Night

In Wednesday night's victory over the Memphis Grizzlies, Russell Westbrook became the first player in Los Angeles Clippers history to do this.

Russell Westbrook, a member of the NBA's 75th Anniversary Team, is one of the greatest players in league history and of this generation. The amount of records he holds is vast and in his 15th NBA season, Westbrook continues to put his name in the league's record books.

In Wednesday night's 141-132 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies, the Los Angeles Clippers point guard recorded 36 points, 10 assists, four rebounds and two blocks. Not only were Westbrook's 36 points a new season-high, but he made a season-high five three-pointers as well.

Without Kawhi Leonard and Paul George on the floor, Russell Westbrook took over and made team history, as he became the first player in Clippers' history to record at least 35 points, 10 assists and two blocked shots.

In addition, Westbrook also became the first player in NBA history to to have a 30 point and 10 assist game with 5 different franchises, per ESPN Stats & Info.

One of the most underappreciated and most disrespected players of all-time, Russell Westbrook continues to prove his worth with the Clippers and he has made a huge impact since joining the team.

With him on the floor, the Clippers are now 8-8 this season and with five games remaining on their schedule, they currently find themselves just a half-game back of the Phoenix Suns for the 4-seed in the Western Conference.

It is also worth mentioning that in this game, Westbrook passed Allen Iverson for 27th on the NBA's all-time scoring list

Playing in 16 games now with the Los Angeles Clippers, Russell Westbrook is averaging 15.3 points, 7.5 assists and 4.9 rebounds while shooting 49.2 percent from the floor.
