Sacramento Kings Make Roster Move Before Spurs Game

The Sacramento Kings have assigned a player to the G League.

On Thursday evening, the Sacramento Kings will host the San Antonio Spurs in California. 

Before the game, the team announced that they had made a roster move by assigning Colby Jones to the G League.

Jones was the 34th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft out of Xavier.  

He has played in 17 games and is averaging 2.2 points and 1.5 rebounds per contest while shooting 37.0% from the field. 

Jones has also spent a lot of time in the G League and is currently averaging 17.8 points, 7.8 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 2.0 steals per contest while shooting 52.0% from the field and 34.6% from the three-point range in five regular season games. 

As for the Kings, they are the eighth seed in the Western Conference with a 31-23 record in 54 games. 

They are 5-5 over their last ten games and most recently defeated Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets by a score of 102-98 (Jones did not play in the game). 

Following the Spurs, the Kings will travel to Los Angeles for a showdown with James Harden and the Clippers on Sunday evening. 

As for the Spurs, they are the 15th seed in the Western Conference with an 11-44 record in 55 games. 

They are 2-8 over their last ten games and most recently lost to the Dallas Mavericks by a score of 116-93. 

Following the Kings, the Spurs will face off against the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday evening in California.
