On Thursday, the New York Knicks announced that they signed a new point guard.

The Tweet announcing the signing of Brandon Goodwin can be seen in a post that is embedded below from the Knicks P.R. account.

Goodwin started his career on the Denver Nuggets, but has spent the last two seasons playing for the Atlanta Hawks.

Goodwin, an Atlanta native, averaged 4.9 points, 1.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 13.2 minutes per game last season.

However, in the two games that he played 37 minutes or more, he excelled.

In those two games, he had 18 points, five rebounds and two steals in one, and 17 points, five rebounds and eight assists in the other.

He also shot above 50% from the field in the two games.

The Knicks also announced that they waived Dwayne Bacon in the same public relations release on Thursday.

They will play their first game of the 2021-22 NBA season on October 20 when they host the Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics at Madison Square Garden.
