Tom Thibodeau's Amazing Quote About Jalen Brunson After Knicks Beat Heat
On Wednesday evening, the New York Knicks defeated the Miami Heat 112-103 in Game 5 of their second-round playoff series at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Star point guard Jalen Brunson was brilliant, playing all 48 minutes and putting up 38 points, nine rebounds and seven assists while shooting 12/22 from the field and 4/10 from the three-point range.
After the game, head coach Tom Thibodeau met with the media and shared a fantastic quote about Brunson.
Thibodeau: "What can you say about the guy? He's just incredible. All-around player, great leader, great toughness, mental toughness, physical toughness, ability to think on his feet, ability to lead, ability to connect with people, to bring the best out of people. That's what makes him special. It's play after play."
Brunson is in his first season with the Knicks and helped them finish as the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference.
In the first round, they beat the Cleveland Cavaliers in five games, which was their first time winning a playoff series since 2013.
Through the first ten games of the 2023 NBA Playoffs, Brunson has been by far the best player on the team with averages of 26.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 1.5 steals per contest while shooting 45.7% from the field.
If the Knicks are able to win Game 6, then they will host Game 7 back at Madison Square Garden on Monday.
The winner of the series will advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.
