Toronto Raptors Make Roster Move After Bulls Game

The Toronto Raptors assigned a player to the G League.

On Thursday evening, the Toronto Raptors lost to DeMar DeRozan and the Chicago Bulls by a score of 116-110 (at home) in Canada. 

Kira Lewis Jr., who was recently acquired in a trade with the Indiana Pacers, was active but did not make his debut.

After the game (on Friday), the Raptors assigned the former Alabama star to the G League.

Lewis Jr. was the 13th pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and is in his fourth season in the league.  

He had spent his entire career with the New Orleans Pelicans before getting traded (twice) this week.  

The 22-year-old is currently averaging 2.9 points and 1.2 assists per contest while shooting 30.8% from the field in 15 games. 

As for the Raptors, they are the 12th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 16-26 record in their first 42 games. 

They are 4-6 over their last ten games and 10-11 in the 21 games they have played on their home floor.

Following the Bulls, the Raptors will visit Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Saturday evening in Manhattan. 

On the road, they are 6-15 in 21 games away from Canada. 

Lewis Jr. has career averages of 5.4 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists per contest while shooting 39.3% from the field and 30.2% from the three-point range in 118 regular season games. 

Raptors 905 will play their next game on Saturday.
