Toronto Raptors Make A Roster Move On Wednesday

On Wednesday, the Toronto Raptors recalled Dalano Banton from the Raptors 905 in the NBA G League.

The Toronto Raptors are a key team to watch ahead of Thursday’s trade deadline.

Many around the league are anticipating Fred VanVleet, Gary Trent Jr. and O.G. Anunoby all being made available, which could make for a very exciting deadline for this organization.

On Wednesday though, they made a small adjustment to their roster by recalling Dalano Banton from the Raptors 905 in the NBA G League.

In his second season with the Raptors, Banton has played in a total of 24 NBA games, averaging 4.8 points and 1.4 rebounds per game. Being a lengthy combo guard, the Raptors are high on Banton being a part of their roster moving forward.

Toronto has always been a very defensive-focused team and Banton checks off all the boxes in terms of being a player that they can turn into something special, especially if the team is to move on from guys like Trent or VanVleet in the backcourt.

Going up-and-down between the NBA and G League all season long, Banton once again hears his name called to go back to the Toronto Raptors ahead of their game on Wednesday night against the San Antonio Spurs.

Due to the fact that the Spurs own one of the worst records in the league, Dalano Banton could wind up seeing some playing time in this game.

Playing in a G League game with the 905 earlier on Wednesday, Banton scored 21 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists and one steal in about 29 minutes of play.

Currently 25-30 on the season, the Raptors find themselves tied with the Indiana Pacers in the standings for the 10-seed in the Eastern Conference.

This season has not been kind to Toronto, which is why many are forecasting them making moves ahead of the trade deadline on Thursday.
