TRADE: Boston Celtics And OKC Thunder Make A Deal

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, the Boston Celtics and Oklahoma City Thunder have made a trade.

On Thursday, the NBA world is awaiting the trade deadline (3 P.M. Eastern Time), so many deals could end up taking place.

Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reports that the Boston Celtics and Oklahoma City Thunder have agreed to a trade for veteran Mike Muscala.

Via Charania's first tweet: "The Boston Celtics are acquiring shooting big man Mike Muscala from the Oklahoma City Thunder, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium."

Via Charania's second tweet: "Boston is sending Justin Jackson and two second-round picks to OKC for Mike Muscala, sources said."

The Celtics are 39-16 in 55 games, which has them as the first seed in the Eastern Conference (and the best team in the NBA).

Therefore, they do not need to add much to a roster that made the NBA Finals in 2022.

Muscala is a role player who is known for his ability to shoot.

He is currently averaging 6.2 points and 3.1 rebounds per contest (while shooting 39.4% from the three-point range).

The 31-year-old had been in his fourth season playing for the Thunder and has also had stints with the Atlanta Hawks, Philadelphia 76ers and Los Angeles Lakers.

He has shot over 40% from the three-point range in three out of his ten seasons in the NBA and has career averages of 6.2 points and 3.2 rebounds per contest in 475 regular season games (he has also appeared in 29 NBA Playoff games).

The Celtics rank seventh in the NBA in three-point shooting (37.4%).

They will play their next game on Friday night when they host the Charlotte Hornets in Massachusetts.
