According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, the New Orleans Pelicans and San Antonio Spurs have made a trade.

On Thursday, the NBA trading deadline is at 3 P.M. Eastern Time, and there are many deals that are being reported.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, the New Orleans Pelicans and San Antonio Spurs have agreed to a trade.

Via Charania's first tweet: "The San Antonio Spurs are trading Josh Richardson to the New Orleans Pelicans, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium."

Via Charania's second tweet: "The Pelicans are trading Devonte' Graham and four second-round picks to San Antonio, sources said."

At one point, Richardson was one of the better young players in the NBA when he averaged 16.6 points per contest with the Miami Heat as a 25-year-old in 2019.

Right now, he is averaging 11.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists per contest in 42 games.

The Spurs (14-41) are one of the worst teams in the NBA and in rebuilding mode, so he is now going into a totally different situation.

Richardson has also played for the Boston Celtics, Dallas Mavericks and Philadelphia 76ers (in addition to the Heat and Spurs).

Right now, the Pelicans are 29-27 in 56 games, which has them tied for the seventh seed in the Western Conference.

They are only one game out of the tie for the fourth seed.

As for Graham, he has played in 53 games this season and is averaging 5.3 points, 1.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists per contest.

The former Kansas star has also played for the Charlotte Hornets, and during his second season in the NBA, he averaged 18.2 points per contest.
