On Friday evening, the San Antonio Spurs hosted the Houston Rockets in Texas.

The game went into overtime, but the Spurs were able to get their first victory of the season, winning by a score of 126-122.

Victor Wembanyama, who was playing his second-career game, finished his night with 21 points, 12 rebounds, one assist, two steals and three blocks in 31 minutes of playing time.

Following the game, he sent out a post on X (with a video) that had over 10,000 likes in four hours.

Wembanyama captioned his post: "Good win yesterday. The first of many #GoSpursGo"

Wembanyama was the first pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, and through his first two games he has averages of 18.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 2.0 steals and 2.0 blocks per contest while shooting 46.4% from the field.

Last year, the Spurs were the 15th seed in the Western Conference with a 22-60 record, and they missed the NBA playoffs for the fourth straight season.

However, there is a lot of excitement around the franchise, because of Wembanyama.

Despite their recent struggles, the Spurs have been among the best teams in the NBA over the last 25 years.

They have won five NBA Championships since 1999, and Gregg Popovich is arguably the best head coach in the league.

The Spurs will play their next game on Sunday night when they visit Paul George and the Los Angeles Clippers in California.

Meanwhile, the Rockets are now 0-2 and will play their next game on Sunday night when they host the Golden State Warriors.
