On Tuesday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers and Denver Nuggets are facing off at Ball Arena for Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals.

Before the game tipped off, the 2023 NBA Draft Lottery was held in Chicago, Illinois, and televised on ESPN.

The San Antonio Spurs were the lucky winners, so they will have the first pick in the 2023 NBA Draft on June 22.

This year, there are not many questions about who the top pick will be.

The consensus was that 19-year-old Victor Wembanyama would be selected first regardless of who landed the top pick.

Following the announcement of the Spurs winning the Lottery, Wembanyama sent out a tweet that went viral.

The post had over 28,000 likes in less than 40 minutes.

Wembanyama tweeted: "Today was a good day"

Wembanyama was also interviewed by ESPN's Brian Windhorst, who was in Paris, France, with him.

Windhorst: "There's American fans and NBA fans across the world that are still learning about you. What is the NBA? What are the San Antonio Spurs getting with Victor Wembanyama?"

Wembanyama: "A team player, I'm gonna make everything to win as many games as I can. I'm trying to win a ring ASAP, so be ready."

The Spurs were the 15th seed in the Western Conference and went 20-62 during the 2022-23 regular season.

That said, they have one of the best coaches in NBA history (Gregg Popovich), who has led them to six NBA Finals appearances and five championships during his 27 seasons at the helm.
