On Wednesday evening, the Golden State Warriors defeated the Dallas Mavericks 127-125 on the road in Texas.

They have now won two games in a row and have concluded their five-game road trip.

Five-time NBA All-Star Klay Thompson played 35 minutes and put up nine points, five rebounds, one assist and one block.

He is now just two points away (13,998) from becoming the 185th player in NBA history to score 14,000 points.

Thompson is a future Hall of Famer, and he has been moving up the scoring list at a fast pace this season.

More than likely, the former 33-year-old will finish his career as one of the top 100 scorers.

In 62 games, Thompson is averaging of 21.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists per contest (while shooting 40.5% from the three-point range).

He has spent his entire career with the Warriors and helped them win the NBA Championship in four out of the previous eight seasons (including 2022).

With the victory over the Mavs, they have improved to 38-36 in 74 games, which has them as the sixth seed (the final guaranteed playoff spot) in the Western Conference.

They are 4-6 in their last ten games and just 9-29 in the 38 games they have played on the road away from the Chase Center in San Francisco, California.

For reference, the Warriors are 29-7 in 36 games on their home floor.

On Friday night, they will host Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers, and Thompson will likely make NBA history.
