Klay Thompson Is 9 Points Away From NBA History

Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson is nine points away from moving up on the NBA's all-time scoring list.

On Monday night, the Golden State Warriors will play the fourth game of their five-game road trip when they visit the Houston Rockets in Texas.

They have lost the first three to the Los Angeles Clippers, Atlanta Hawks and Memphis Grizzlies.

During Monday's game, five-time All-Star Klay Thompson can make NBA history, as he is just nine points away from moving ahead of his teammate Andre Iguodala on the all-time scoring list.

Currently, Thompson has 13,960 points, which ranks 187th on the list, while Iguodala ranks 186th with 13,968.

Since he is averaging 21.9 points per contest (in 60 games), he will likely move to 186th and pass Iguodala on Monday night.

Thompson has also scored at least nine points in 57 out of those 60 games.

The four-time NBA Champion was the 11th pick in the 2011 NBA Draft and has spent his entire career with the Warriors.

They have been to the NBA Finals in six out of the last eight seasons (and won four titles in that span).

Right now, the Warriors are 36-36 in 72 games, which has them as the seventh seed in the Western Conference.

They are 4-6 in their last ten games and on a three-game losing streak.

On the road, the team continues to struggle in a big way, as the Warriors are just 7-29 in the 36 games they have played away from the Chase Center.

Following the Rockets, they will visit the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday to conclude the road trip.
