Who Should Sign Russell Westbrook?

The Los Angeles Clippers would be a good landing spot for Russell Westbrook.

2017 MVP Russell Westbrook was traded from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Utah Jazz (in a three-team trade) last week.

The nine-time NBA All-Star is one of the greatest players ever, but he clearly was not a good fit for the Lakers.

On February 8, Chris Haynes of the NBA on TNT and Bleacher report said that the Los Angeles Clippers are a team with interest in Westbrook (if he gets bought out by the Jazz).

I believe that Westbrook joining the Clippers would work out well.

Why?

For starters, Westbrook played two seasons with Paul George on the Oklahoma City Thunder (they made the NBA Playoffs in both seasons).

The Clippers have one of the most talented rosters in the league, with George and Kawhi Leonard.

However, they have dealt with injuries over the last few seasons.

Therefore, a player like Westbrook (who played 78 games last season) is someone who provides great insurance.

Not to mention he is also putting up phenomenal numbers off the bench, with averages of 15.9 points, 6.2 rebounds and 7.5 assists per contest.

The Lakers were not a good situation for Westbrook, while the Clippers have a roster that is more suited for his style of play.

Leonard and George are much better shooters than LeBron James, which would provide significantly better spacing on the floor.

Finally, the Clippers being in Los Angeles makes a move seamless, as he just finished playing for the Lakers (and is from the area).

There is no other team in the NBA that would be as ideal as the Clippers for Westbrook.
