5x NBA All-Star The San Antonio Spurs Should Sign

I believe the San Antonio Spurs should sign a five-time NBA All-Star.

The San Antonio Spurs have gotten off to a slow start to the season and will likely miss the NBA playoffs for the fifth straight year.

That said, there is a lot of attention surrounding the franchise because of rookie Victor Wembanyama.

He is already among the most exciting players in the league and has shown off his potential to become a superstar.

At this point, there is no risk for the Spurs to experiment with different lineups and see what players they want to move forward with.

I believe that the team should also use this time to sign five-time NBA All-Star John Wall

Why?

The former Kentucky star is currently a free agent that could likely be signed for a veteran's minimum deal (or even a ten-day contract).

He is far from his prime, but the 33-year-old is also one of the greatest passers ever, and would be capable of being a play-maker.

Right now, only one player on the Spurs' roster is averaging more than 4.0 assists per contest (Tre Jones, 5.4 APG).

For Wembanyama's development, the Spurs will need to add guards who can facilitate at a high level.

A player like Wall, who has a career average of 8.9 assists per contest, would make the game even easier for Wembanyama.

Wall was the first pick in the 2010 NBA Draft and has played 11 seasons in the league for the Washington Wizards, Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Clippers.

The Spurs are currently are the 15th seed in the Western Conference with an 8-34 record in 42 games.
