6x NBA All-Star The Atlanta Hawks Should Sign

I believe the Atlanta Hawks should consider signing Blake Griffin.

Blake Griffin is no longer the superstar he was earlier in his career, but the veteran forward has turned himself into a solid role player.

This past year, Griffin played in 41 regular season games for the Boston Celtics and averaged 4.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists per contest while shooting 48.5% from the field and 34.8% from the three-point range (he also appeared in one NBA playoff game).

Currently, the 34-year-old is an unrestricted free agent that is available to be signed by any team in the league.

I believe the Atlanta Hawks should sign the six-time NBA All-Star.

Why?

The Hawks have made the NBA playoffs three times in a row, and they made the Eastern Conference Finals in 2021.

At this point, the franchise is in win-now mode, and they should consider bringing in more veterans.

This summer, the Hawks have already acquired Wesley Matthews and Patty Mills and Griffin would be another excellent addition to their bench.

Last year, when the Hawks entered the postseason, no one on their roster was older than 30.

Griffin has averaged over 20 points per contest in eight out of his 13 seasons and has also played in 68 NBA playoff games.

His experience and ability to still be a solid role player would be an excellent addition to the Hawks.

Last year, they were the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference but lost to Griffin and the Celtics in the first round of the NBA playoffs in six games.
