6x NBA All-Star The Los Angeles Lakers Should Consider

Six-time NBA All-Star Blake Griffin is still a free agent.

Blake Griffin was once among the best players in the entire NBA.

That said, the six-time All-Star is coming off a season where he played in 41 games for the Boston Celtics and averaged 4.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists per contest while shooting 48.5% from the field and 34.8% from the three-point range.

At this stage of his career, Griffin is a role player.

On July 30, he still remains a free agent and is available to be signed by any team in the league.

I believe the former Oklahoma star should be someone the Los Angeles Lakers consider signing.

Why?

The Lakers are coming off a year where they were the seventh seed in the Western Conference but ended up making the Conference Finals.

Therefore, they will be a contender to win the 2024 NBA Championship and need to surround LeBron James, Anthony Davis and D'Angelo Russell with the right role players.

Griffin has transitioned well into becoming a veteran off the bench.

He could still be a reliable backup forward and help the young players on the roster as a mentor in the locker room.

The best tenure of Griffin's career came while playing with the Los Angeles Clippers.

He played eight seasons in Los Angeles, so he is familiar with the city and Crypto.com Arena.

In addition, the Lakers do not have the cap space to sign a player for more than the veteran's minimum, and that is likely the kind of deal Griffin will land.
