Concerning Report About Zion Williamson

ESPN's Brian Windhorst spoke about Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans on the latest episode of Brian Windhorst & The Hoop Collective.

Zion Williamson is one of the best players in the NBA when he is on the court.

However, the former Duke superstar has missed significant time due to injuries since he was selected with the first pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.

This past year, Williamson only played 29 regular season games, and he missed the entire 2021-22 season.

On the latest episode of Brian Windhorst & The Hoop Collective, Windhorst shared an intriguing report about Williamson.

Windhorst via his podcast: "There's no relationship between Zion and the organization. And minimal relationship between Zion and his teammates, from what I understand."

Considering Williamson is arguably the best player on the team (when healthy), the report from Windhorst is highly alarming.

That said, he is only 22 years old, so becoming a leader of the franchise is not something that should be expected right away.

Last year, Williamson averaged a sensational 26.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 60.8% from the field and 36.8% from the three-point range.

The Pelicans finished as the ninth seed in the Western Conference and lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder in the play-in tournament.

In 2022, they made the first round of the NBA Playoffs but lost to the Phoenix Suns in six games.

Williamson has never played in a Playoff game and has career averages of 25.8 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.6 assists while shooting 60.5% from the field and 34.3% from the three-point range over 114 regular season games.
