The Golden State Warriors are coming off a season where they finished as the sixth seed in the Western Conference and lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round of the NBA Playoffs in six games.

One of their best role players was Donte DiVincenzo, who was in his first year with the organization and averaged 9.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.3 steals per contest while shooting 43.5% from the field and 39.7% from the three-point range.

The two-time NCAA Champion recently declined his player option (via ESPN) and will enter unrestricted free agency.

According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype (on the HoopsHype Podcast), the Warriors will not be able to retain DiVincenzo.

Via Scotto's article on HoopsHype: "Donte DiVincenzo won’t return to the Golden State Warriors, I’m told. He’s earned a pay raise. He may double what he could’ve gotten from Golden State. The Knicks are one of a handful of teams interested."

Before the Warriors, DiVincenzo also spent time with the Milwaukee Bucks and Sacramento Kings (he was the 17th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft out of Villanova).

His career averages are 9.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 42.0% from the field and 36.2% from the three-point range.

Based on his production, DiVincenzo will be a significant loss to the Warriors.

The franchise has won the NBA Championship four times in the previous nine seasons, but this past year they showed signs of weakness and never looked like a true title contender.
